Accessing Digital Content for Kurzweil 3000-firefly

As the webinar host for Kurzweil 3000-firefly, I am frequently asked how to obtain digital content for students who use Kurzweil 3000-firefly. The list is long, but we have included a few highlights below.

At the top of the list is Bookshare, an online library of thousands of digital books, newspapers, and magazines (almost 223,000, in fact!) that are free to eligible subscribers. You can learn more about Bookshare and how Kurzweil 3000-firefly supports at a joint webinar with Bookshare on Wednesday, February 5 at 3:00 PM ET.

For students in higher education, AccessText, a liaison between schools and book publishers, is a valuable resource for digital textbooks. Join us on Monday, January 27 at 3:00 PM ET for a webinar to learn how AccessText can provide textbooks for your students and see the tools in Kurzweil 3000-firefly that will help students achieve their goal to obtain a degree.

When you install Kurzweil 3000-firefly, we provide you with a free Classic Literature library. As the title implies, this library contains all the great classics that then immediately become available to students through the cloud-based Universal Library. Dickens, anyone?

Another option within Kurzweil 3000-firefly is to download from online libraries such as  Project Gutenberg and Baen Free Library. Just click Online, then choose Search for Books and check the site you would like to search. Easy!

And finally, you can refer to our web site for a list of other resources for digital text that will be readable by Kurzweil 3000-firefly.

It has been my pleasure over the last year to host our webinars. It’s always fun to welcome those of you who attend multiple webinars, as well as those of you who attend for the first time.

I hope to see you soon at one of our webinars soon!
